2004 As I Walk and Keep Guard of our Dreams (co-composed at Eora Aboriginal College with Anmatjere Arrernte singer songwriter Rhubee Neale). SA, guitar and piano; SSAATTBB a capella. Premiered by Sheppard and Neale, with guitar chord accompaniment, at Eora Aboriginal College Theatre, November 2004.
2008 Ngaala Maaman / Walken Rainbow – guitar and soprano 2008. Premiered at the 2008 Tranby Aboriginal College Graduation Ceremony, with visiting Noongar Elders in attendance, by Soprano Elizabeth Sheppard singing in the Noongar language, accompanied on Guitar by Gamilaroi Elder Darryl French. 2nd Edition 2017, an instrumental piece for Ensemble (flute, clarinet, vibraphone and cello), commissioned and premiered by Ensemble Offspring at Eora Aboriginal College Theatre, 333 Abercrombie St, Sydney NSW. 3rd Edition 2021 for Soprano and Piano, performed in the Noongar language by Soprano Elizabeth Sheppard, accompanied by pianist / music lecturer Alan Hicks, at Sydney Conservatorium’s East Recital Hall. 2008 Ngalak Noonook Balga (Grasstrees) / We are Your Witnesses – First Edition for Soprano and Organ / Piano 2008. This anthem was premiered in the Noongar language at St Patricks Cathedral Parramatta at the Sorry Day Vigil Mass, 2008, by Cantor Elizabeth Sheppard (Soprano) and organist Michael Taylor. First Edition 2015, premiered by Cabrogal Darug Elder Aunty Judith Joyce, Stacy Jane Etal and Elizabeth Sheppard at Reconciliation for Western Sydney’s “The Land Holds Us” Seminar. 2nd Edition for percussion ensemble commissioned and premiered by Ensemble Offspring in 2018 at Eugene Goosens Hall, Ultimo NSW Australia. The 3rd Edition for a capella SSAATTBB Choir, with new lyrics, entitled A Better Future, was commissioned and premiered by The Song Company at Christ Church Cathedral, Newcastle NSW, on September 29 2022, and the video was streamed on the Australian Digital Concert Hall. 2018 Wonthaggi / The Rocks of Inverloch – Soprano and Piano, Soprano and Ensemble (flute, clarinet, piano, vibraphone, cello). Commissioned and premiered by Ensemble Offspring with Dharawal Inuk Soprano Sonya Holowell, at the second (2018) Australian Indigenous Composers Initiative Concert, in the ANU School of Music Studio. Recorded by the ABC in Eugene Goossens Hall during the second Indigenous Composers Initiative Concert, and subsequently broadcast on demand, on the ABC’s New Waves Podcast with Stephen Adams.
2018 Kaya Mary The Blue Pool – Soprano and Piano, Soprano and Ensemble (flute, clarinet, piano, vibraphone, cello), SATB and piano 2022. Ensemble edition commissioned and premiered by Ensemble Offspring with Dharawal Inuk Soprano Sonya Holowell. The Ensemble edition was recorded by the ABC at Eugene Goossens Hall, Ultimo NSW Australia for the ABC’s New Waves Podcast with Stephen Adams. The SATB edition of Kaya Mary, a section of this piece, was recorded by Elizabeth Sheppard Media under the direction of Elizabeth Sheppard at 2 MBS FM, with Audio Engineer Joseph Goddard assisting.
2018 Mary Moorditj Ngaangk / Mary Gentle Mother – This piece has three notated editions – 1. Solo Soprano and Guitar 2. SATB and Organ, and 3. SA & Percussion Ensemble (flute, clarinet, vibraphone, piano, anc cello). Each edition has parallel lyrics in English and Noongar. The Soprano / Guitar edition was premiered at Village Life Retirement Home, Goulburn NSW, by the composer, for her mother Olive Alison Simpson nee Ridge, to whom this music is dedicated. The SATB / Organ English edition was premiered at St Patricks Cathedral Parramatta by Cantor Elizabeth Sheppard, St Patricks Cathedral Choir, and organist Bernard Kirkpatrick, in the carol prelude to the Christmas Mass, on 24 Dec 2008.
2019 Untitled – SSAATTBB a capella. Commissioned by The Song Company for their 19tothe12 Concert at the Joern Utzon Room of the Sydney Opera House, and released in 2021 on The Song Company’s Nineteen to the Dozen album.
2020 Kalgoorli Silky Pear – premiered on the historic 1770 Henrion fortepiano. Commissioned by Dr. Scott Davie, recorded by ABC (Producer Stephen Adams and Audio Engineer Huff Johnston), released on the ABC’s Ngarra Burria Piyanna CD and its Women of Note CD.
2021 Koordaboodjar Heartland for Flute and Harp. Commissioned by Dr. Sally Walker, premiered by Dr. Sally Walker and harpist Emily Granger on April 18 2021 at the NSW Art Gallery’s 2021 150th Anniversary Resonate Concert in Sydney, Australia. 2022 Kaouwi ex Cordis and Eight Songs from the Heart – Seventeen SSAATTBB mainstage choral works (43 min) Commissioned by The Song Company for its 2022 Songs from the Heart production. This music, composed as two Indigenous Australian Song Cycles, was premiered by The Song Company on 29 September 2022 at Christ Church Cathedral Newcastle NSW Australia. These songs were subsequently toured to Canberra, Parramatta, Sydney and Wollongong, with the Songs from the Heart production. The Australia Arts Council awarded The Song Company a $25,000 grant for a second 2023 national tour of this music.
2022 Karollini Christmas – Ten Australian Carols. Recorded by Elizabeth Sheppard Media on Dec 19-21 2022 at 2 MBS FM Studio St Leonards NSW Australia. The recording was directed and co-mixed / co-produced by Elizabeth Sheppard with assistance from subcontracted Audio Engineer Joe Goddard. 2MBS FM Studio Manager Michael Guilfoyle released the Master files of the album recordings to Elizabeth Sheppard, who funded the entire recording.
2023 Minninup Pool String Quartet – four movements, describing one day on Noongar Country from dawn to moonrise – 1 Bina Dawnlight 2 Walken Creation 3 Karla Home 4 Miyak Moon. Composed, published and recorded independently by Elizabeth Sheppard at ESMedia Studio Australia. This Quartet was released worldwide via TuneCore in 2023.
2023 The Reveille Mass – Composed, published and recorded by Elizabeth Sheppard independently at ESMedia Studio, NSW Australia. Digital and print publication of the score is by Elizabeth Sheppard Media 2023. The 2nd Edition of this score may be viewed (but not downloaded) at the National Library of Australia’s Trove website.
